Not sure what’s going on in the Hip-Hop world as of late, but why is it so hard for these artists to just make the music and stay out of trouble?
ASAP Rocky was arrested in April over a shooting that took place in November of last year and according to Rolling Stone, has been formally charged with assault with a firearm over allegedly shooting his friend over a disagreement in Los Angeles. George Gascón, the Los Angeles County District Attorney announced this shocking news and Rocky’s arraignment is on Wednesday. He could face up to nine years in prison if found guilty.
Gascón said in his statement, “Discharging a gun in a public place is a serious offense that could have ended with tragic consequences not only for the person targeted but also the innocent bystanders visiting Hollywood. My office conducted a thorough review of the evidence in this case and determined that the addition of a special firearm allegation was warranted”.
Former ASAP Mob member, Terell Ephron aka ASAP Relli filed a civil lawsuit against Rocky over the shooting and alleged the rapper lured him to an obscure location in Hollywood to discuss a disagreement. Unbeknownst to Ephron, Rocky came armed with a semi-automatic handgun and fired multiple shots without warning. Ephron also claims that he’s suffered physical, mental, and emotional injuries, and has received death threats over the situation. He is seeking at least $25,000 in damages, according to Rolling Stone.
Currently, Young Thug, Gunna, and other members of YSL are sitting in jail over RICO charges that really came out of nowhere. One day, we’re all listening to the music and talking about how great Gunna is and praising Young Thug for signing all of his clones to his label, and then the next minute, we’re looking at their mugshots. Kodak Black can’t stay away from jail and honestly, at this point, I’m sure they have a key under the mat for this man because every other week he’s in the news for something ridiculous. Now, we get to ASAP Rocky and I really don’t understand how you can have all of this money, have a child with a legend who refuses to drop music, and still find a way to land yourself in the hottest of the hot seats.
